Intro. There is only one known way in the universe to level a mesmer without wanting to hang yourself by your toenails by level 10. They're squishy at low levels moreso than most classes, don't kill as fast or feel as powerful pre-80 (as, say, thieves or warriors) and hence are harder to level, don't outgrow that till around 50-60, and don't actually get good till you're geared up in Exotics
Just do hero points. Preferably on PoF maps (more points per challenge). How fast they will accumulate depends on: Effectiveness of your build; Gear (damage) Map travel (super fast with mounts) My estimate is it can be done well within the hour, as all PoF maps are open from the getgo.
@"mercury ranique.2170" said:I think there is some confusion about hero points and mastery points (in this thread)Hero points are needed to unlock elite specializations.to be able to navigate through the maps to get to the hero points, you need mounts and mastery points. To be precise, you need 6.
Head up the cliff edge and jump from the plant onto the tree opposite (as indicated by the circle). Head up the tree and leap off the end, catching an Updraft. You need to then ping pong (right and left) through the Updrafts to reach the Hero Point. Start with the Updraft on your right, then turn left and right again.
MikeG, please share the easier/faster methods to get to level 80. Seriously, I am all ears as I am just learning the game. After review, crafting for about $5 gets the character to max in a reported roughly 2 hours.
